Zoo Logic :: Green Tree Python
Synopsis: Zoo Logic returns! Well, it never really went away, but was on a short hiatus while I reported on some other stories. But I made it back to the National Zoo earlier this week and filmed a bunch of new animals. So sit back, grab a hot cup of Red Bull and enjoy!

The Skinny on Setting a Prescribed Fire
Synopsis: My last segment from the prairie - this one is part of our “The Skinny on…” series that we feature on our site. The video focuses more on the ‘how’ these prescribed burns are done, rather than the ‘why,’ which I highlighted in an earlier segment. I guess I could have combined them into […]

Nanotube Radio Device Plays Tunes
Synposis: I read a press release yesterday regarding this carbon nanotube radio device and thought it would make a cool story. Also, they had video - so there was no need for me to jet to UC-Irvine on a moments notice (not that I would have had the opportunity to). In any case, I think […]

From west to east and back again, Rogue Wave strikes with aural bliss
New Pornos crowd Rialto stage with pop bliss
Serpe’s latest […]

Endangered Coral Grown in Zoo
Synopsis: A pretty straight news segment on some research going on at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. Probably one of the faster turnarounds I’ve done on shooting, producing and editing a piece - since I shot on Thursday morning, came back and logged the video that afternoon and edited and published it on Friday.

Cool Jobs :: Burn Boss
Synopsis: My second prairie segment. A Cool Jobs on Mike Melnechuk, who was burn boss that day. I always enjoy segments where I don’t have to track any audio. Maybe it’s because I find my own voice kinda irritating. Or maybe it’s always nicer to have the subject tell the story. Also, is there […]

Prescribed Burn Cures What Ails Prairies
Synopsis: My first segment covering prescribed fires in the Arkansas prairies. The second will deal more with the “how” of the operation, which, by the way, was pretty awesome to watch first-hand.

Zoo Logic :: Caribbean Flamingo
Synopsis: Here’s the latest in my Zoo Logic series. It’s about flamingos. They’re pink. And mean, apparently.
